Superconducting Radio Frequency (SRF) Systems Department operates state-of-the-art SRF assembly and testing facilities and supports RF technology thrust. This is to develop advanced SRF structures and to reduce SRF system capital and operational costs through innovative designs of cryomodules and ancillaries. The department is staffed with world-class scientists, engineers, and technicians. The staff conducts a wide range of R&D activities focused on SRF technology which includes RF and mechanical design and optimization of cavities and auxiliary components, novel fabrication and assembly methods, SRF cavity resonance control, cryogenic horizontal tests of SRF cavities at Cavity Test Cave, and SRF cryomodule assembly. SRF Systems Department works closely with the SRF Materials & Research Department and collaborates with multiple partners to achieve the goal of delivering cryomodules to key projects.
